WinXPproSP2

I have guest account status enabled in |Group Policy|Security
Settings|Security Options|
and
guest account is ON in |ControlPanel|UserAccounts|
When I click on 'Guest' on the welcome screen the screen turns black and the
HD is churning for a short while and then the welcome screen is shown again.

What is that telling me?
Any comments and/or hints how I can remedy the problem are appreciated
