Default Computer is not accessible

I have a small home network and one computer continually blocks connection
from all the others. I have run the network setup wizard, turned off its
firewall and done just about everything I can think of to be able to
transfer files to it. The unit shows up under mshome, but when I click on
it, I get the msg: "\\toby is not accessible. You might not have permission
to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of the server to
find out if you have access permissions. Access is denied" How do I get
around this? Out of 5 computers in this house, it is the only one that will
not allow access. It is a clean install of xp pro and was set up like all
the others.

Thanks in advance

Steven

Try this. De-activate the Firewall and clear its history. Re-activate, and
then PING the other computer (Start|Run| type 'command' (without quotes)
and on the next screen type PING (computer address). The firewall will then
advise that a communication is trying to take place. If you allow it, I
think your problem will be solved.

Hoe this helps

If what Dapper wrote doesn't work, try this if y'all are using XP
home: Restart computer in safe mode (F8 continupusly when restarting),
log on as administrator, go to the shared file(s) on the problematic
computer, right click share and go to 'security'. Enable read and
write to 'everyone' and ok on the way out. Restart computer, and try
again.
