Default asp.net user account

i recently did a clean install of xp and now see that there is a user account
named asp.net Machine A...
wha??
can i delete this account? how did it get there? i'm paranoid about it
because the reason for the reinstall was total infestation with spyware. i
really don't want to go down that road again.
thanks,
chris

It's a user account for the Net Framework. Programs can have accounts too. In this case it is to restrict program rights for web servers.
