Default start menu/ all programs is empty...Help Please

I'm running Win XP, SP2. When I go to the Start Menu, I select "All
Programs" and nothing shows up...it's like the "All Programs" group doesn't
have
anything to show. However, when I change to "Classic Start Menu" when I
select the "Programs" group I do have programs listed.

I have tried several recommendations, but nothing has worked.

Any ideas what could be causing this would be appreciated.

Thank you.

It might help if you post what you have tried so someone doesn't give
you that as a suggestion and you say - nope I tried that already.
