Default Compressing 600MB - 900MB MPEG4 files

If I compress my MPEG4 movies in a zip folder, will I lose any data or
quality of the movies?

as mp4's are already a compressed format they are unlikely to lose any size
by zipping, they will probably be exactly the same size when zipped

No, but zipping probably won't compress them much, if at all.

The zips will most likely be larger than the original files...

WinRAR multimedia compression might be able to squeeze a little air out of them, but don't count on it.

I've had fair results, sometimes, with cabpack: http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/english.htm

It'll take considerable time with files that size, and you probably won't be pleased with the performance when you want to actually use the files.

c'Ya!
