Firefox is very much in vogue these days.

Does it meet your "displays like ie" criterion?

Try Netscape 8.0... You can render with either the IE or the Firefox/Mozilla
engine and it's full of handy features. Or, alternatively, just keep using
IE. I use a mixture of them depending on what I'm doing. For tabs in IE just
grab the MSN Desktop Search toolbar complete and you'll have desktop search
and tabs.

I've looked at pretty much all of the IE shells and have been using Avant
<http://www.avantbrowser.com/> for probably a couple of years now and find
it to work very well. It has numerous enhancements over IE and uses the IE
rendering engine.

Another popular option is Maxthon <http://www.maxthon.com>. Netscape also
has the option to do IE rendering <http://browser.netscape.com/ns8/>

"Best" is in the mind of the beholder when it comes to things like this. We
all work differently and have different tastes, so my "best" may not be your
"best."

That said, I very much like Maxthon. It's not a separate browser but a shell
for IE, so it keeps some IE features and adds others. It's free, so try it
yourself and see how you like it.

I agree with Ken about Maxthon. Maxthon has worked so well for me that I
gave a $$ donation to support their programmers' efforts.
