Default Editing host list

XP Pro, SP2.

The content advisor is not working for some reason. This forum advised me to
edit the host list.

Accordingly, I downloaded and unzipped files from mvps.org. Using Word Pad,
I opened what I believe was the list, edited it using proper format, saved
the edits, and then rebooted. The unwanted site remains accessible, although
the file did a wonderful job of knocking out all the ads on every site I've
visited since unzipping it.

Help?
