Default Problem at startup

I'm having a problem with my computer at the startup. It gets stuck on the
screen that shows the Windows logo, the activity light stops blinking and it
just sits there. After shutting it down manually, I have to restart in Safe
Mode and do a system restore to a particular day back in December. I should
also say that I had a problem with spyware in the beginning of December and
had someone clean off the computer and reload Windows and all other programs.
I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the recent flaw or if it's
something else. Any help would be appreciated. After the restore everything
is fine, but having to do this every few days is annoying.
