Hi there,
Something has gone wrong with a friends Windows XP installation. Problems starting playing up with Norton Internet Security 2002 so frustrated we removed it to move to AVG. Norton removal was messy. Can't remember exactly but I had to re-enable some services to get things like Security centre working properly. However now, certain websites through IE are just blank pages. E.g. Log in to NEtgear router, never actually displays the content. Windows update shows as a blank page, Dell 3d demo of the laptops (Where they pop up in a JavaScript window) just do not respond. These things work in Firefox accept for Windows update as this says IE is required. Also I note that the Send To Desktop link does not seem to do anything. Can anyone please suggest what might be wrong with this PC. Generally other things seem OK with it but I would like to get it fixed so we can do Windows updates and view all websites with IE. Thanks in advance. Kind regards Dave |

Hi Dave,
Try entering this command in the run box (Start > Run) regsvr32 jscript.dll If that does not work, regsvr32 wintrust.dll Hope that works! So how did you know that? And should I run the second one anyway just in case to fix any as yet undiscovered problems? |

Glad that it worked. You don't have to enter the second command anymore!
