Hi, I have got the same problem. Did you find a fix?

As previous stated in a different post, the DVD drives use two different
lasers (one for CDs and the other for DVDs.) It is likely that the CD laser is not working anymore. You could try a DVD lens cleaner in order to see if the could help.
