A friend brought his PC to me the other day because his IBM webcam didn't work after he installed it according to the instructions on the box, which involved using a CD supplied with the webcam. Sounds like a similar situation to yours. I opened Device Manager, which had a yellow question mark against the webcam. I told Windows to re-install the drivers, it asked for the CD, then the webcam worked. As far as I can tell, the IBM installer did not install the drivers correctly, but when Windows re-installed the same drivers, they worked. Perhaps re-installing the drivers using Device Manager will work for you too. Sunny |

Usually (with USB devices) you install the software before you connect the
device. It will tell when you can connect the device.. -- ************************************************** **** Most learned on these newsgroups Tumppi, Helsinki, FINLAND (translations from/to FI not always accurate) ************************************************** **** "1forthemoney" <1forthemoney@discussions.microsoft.com> kirjoitti viestissä:AA682AE5-1739-4E6B-A1A4-0B87CEEA839A@microsoft.com... >I have this Dynex web cam and it says its for windows XP right on the box. >I > downloaded the software (CD) but when I plyg the cam into the USB port, i > get > this message "cannot install the device.
