PCMCIA USB 2.0 card that can go in the bottom slot?

Hi,

In a nutshell - is there a PCMCIA USB 2.0 card that can go in the bottom
slot?

In more detail, i've got a Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop with two PCMCIA slots.

I'm about to install wireless networking, including a Netgear PCMCIA
Wireless card which needs to go in the top slot.

The problem is, I'd also hoped to install a PCMCIA USB 2.0 card as well -
but all of the ones I've seen look like they need to go in the top slot
also.

Hence my question - is there a PCMCIA USB 2.0 card that can go in the bottom
slot?

I know I could just install the USB2.0 card and use a Netgear wireless usb
dongle, but I think that will stick out way too far - I'd much rather have
the configuration above.

You may not be able to insert two cards simutaneously as they may physically
interfere with each other, that is the case with both my machines (IBM and
Toshiba).

There is nothing to prevent any PCMCIA-card from going into either the top
or the bottom slot. Your problem is probably the same as mine: Some
PCMCIA cards build so high that when inserted in the bottom slot they
prevent another PCMCIA card from going into the top slot. For USB cards
I think this is always the case simply because of the physical size of the
USB port.

This is the point I'm making Sven - I want a USB card that's ultra-slim and
isn't impeded by the wireless card.

I was wondering if anyone in this group had encountered this problem and
resolved it satisfactorily.

There is no reasonable solution. Since WinXP can hot swap PC-Cards,
there is no reason not to remove one card and replace with another; I do
this all the time with USB, Firewire, and wireless cards. There are USB
slot extenders that might work, depending on how the extended card
responds to being connected to the extender. These are very expensive
since they are used for development purposes. I suppose a user with the
cash could do the research on his own cards.
