RE: cd writer

I have a similar problem, the drive reads and writes to DVD but does not
recognise a CD when I insert it. Did you find a solution?

A firmware update as a last resort might help..

You might check your current version to make sure the drive will benefit
from the new update, read instructions and be careful..
You might also try to update/upgrade your burning app that came bundled with
the drive..
