Hi, I am in the market for a new keyboard/mouse and was looking at
Logitech's bluetooth desktops. I also want to get a remote since I use my computer as my media center (not I don't have MS media center installed). One of the Logitech keyboards has a detachable remote which would be handy and probably all I need but I am worried about range, I would like to be able to control it from another room (I live in a medium sized apartment) and I get the impression that the ATI remote will do that. Has anyone out there used one or both of these setups? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Cheers -Gaiko Here are links to the ATI remote and the Logitech keyboards http://www.ati.com/products/remotewonder2/index.html http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/pr...categoryid=417 |

Bluetooth is deliberately designed to be short range, however my Logitech Bluetooth keyboard works fine in every room in my house (I just tried it). It's a small house though, metal-lath plaster on wood frame, so YMMV. I don't really like the ATI remote very much--it works fine with ATI MMC but it's not all that happy otherwise in my experience. The Logitech DiNovo has some degree of functionality with everything I've thrown at it. > Cheers > > -Gaiko > > > Here are links to the ATI remote and the Logitech keyboards > http://www.ati.com/products/remotewonder2/index.html > http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/pr...categoryid=417 -- --John to email, dial "usenet" and validate (was jclarke at eye bee em dot net) |

I have one I picked up at radio shack that works on every remote I have. There is even an external antenna that can be added to extend the range of the extender. Newb |
