Hi, I recently solved the problem of getting my sidewinder gamepad
(non-usb) working on my Windows XP computer...thanks to the people of this group. However, a problem still remains. When I daisy-chain my second gamepad into my first, it doesn't detect the second gamepad. When I click Microsoft Sidewinder (Auto-Detect) after I click "add" in "Game controllers," an error message comes up: "The controller Microsoft Sidewinder Game Pad currently resides on port Aureal Vortex Game Port. Please remove it or assign the device to another port." What in the world?? They're daisy chained, so their in the same port, right? Please help! Thanks in advance! |

Not all devices daisy-chain successfully. My guess is that your devices fall into this category. Maybe you could find an add-in gameport controller card for the second device. No, I'm positive that these devices daisy chain correctly because I
used to do it with my Window's 98 computer. It worked perfectly. This is even in connected through the same game port that was on my windows 98 computer! Not only is the second controller not detected when I daisy chain, but it screws up the first controller...I can't figure this out... |
