Hi there, I'm attempting to format my hard drive (clean off everything) but when i put my recovery disc in and follow the prompts - eventually I get a message from Symantec that says "Cannot open R:/h2614.gho" And then "Invalid Dump file" and that is it - I have to reboot normally... Anyone know what I should do? -- shutterbug1975 |

Check the manufacturers web site for information on your computer. OEM's have different recovery procedures and is not specific to XP. If you want to give more information make, model, etc. possibly someone might have experience with your system. -- Michael Stevens MS-MVP XP xpnews@bogusmichaelstevenstech.com http://www.michaelstevenstech.com For a better newsgroup experience. This would leave you with a completely blank disk, with no hope of recovering anything at all. Is this what you want? |

Perhaps there is a fault on the recovery disk I would contact their support.
