I asked for a computer with an AMD processor at 2.8 GHz at a computer
store. When I turned the computer on the BIOS message says "Sempron 3000+ Speed: 1.8 GHz". This is normal or I got the wrong computer? Greetings from Paraguay. Claudio Bogado Pompa. |

If you wanted a 2.8 ghz - then you got the wrong one.
Take it back and complain. <claudiobp@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:1132493283.351519.179400@z14g2000cwz.googlegr oups.com... >I asked for a computer with an AMD processor at 2.8 GHz at a computer > store. > When I turned the computer on the BIOS message says "Sempron 3000+ > Speed: 1.8 GHz". > This is normal or I got the wrong computer? > Greetings from Paraguay. > Claudio Bogado Pompa. > |

Hi, actually you have a CPU that will outperform a 2.8ghz Intel, AMD label
their CPU's differently, perhaps you didn't specify make? Your computer is an AMD processor (a good thing). Its core frequency is 1.8
GHz. However, since AMD processors are more efficient and can execute more instructions per clock cycle, your 1.8 GHz AMD processor can perform at the same level as a 2.8 GHz Intel. Your computer meets your requirement. Enjoy it. If you want an AMD 2.8Ghz (AMD Athlon 64 FX57 2.8 GHz for instance) And
you were given a "Sempron 3000+ Speed: 1.8 GHz" then NO, you did not get what you wanted. What you got was something that performs like an "Intel 2.8 Ghz processor". claudiobp@hotmail.com wrote: > I asked for a computer with an AMD processor at 2.8 GHz at a computer > store. > When I turned the computer on the BIOS message says "Sempron 3000+ > Speed: 1.8 GHz". > This is normal or I got the wrong computer? > Greetings from Paraguay. > Claudio Bogado Pompa. > |
