I have some tapes and have connected the tape output to the soundboard
input. When I play the tape I can very nicely hear everything via the separate computer speakers as I turn on the tapeplayback. Is there a way to capture that to a harddrive and then burn it to a CD? Is there a way I can see on the computer the tapeoutput? Or do I need an analog to digital converter and where do I get those? I have Windows XP Professional as the OS. |

I don't know if this will help you or not, but I bought All Sound Recorder XP
and set it up to record to MP3. Then I plugged in a cable to go from the tape recorder headphone outlet to the mike outlet on my computer. I started the All Sound Recorder program to record, then started playing the tape. I personally like to increase the volume. You can play the recording from All Sound Recorder to see if you are satisfied with the recording or not. I obtained the All Sound Recorder program from Download.com. After I've completed the recording part I use Nero (from nero.com) to burn the recording to a CD. Having converted all my many cassettes to CD....I strongly suggest
purchasing a good software package, such as Roxio's EZ Creator or Nero. "ritter197" <ritter197@verizon.net> wrote in message news:wx3gf.5449$BC2.1@trnddc04... Thanks. I downloaded Audacity SW program but found a Dutch program,
PolderbitS Sound Recorder and Sound Editor much easier to use and it has all kinds of filters too, if desired. It converts all tapes or vinyl records to Digital sounds, even to MP3 if desired. I have played with it now for 2 days and like it so much that I purchased it for $ 32.95, a steal. It can also be downloaded and tried for 14 days with all functions enabled. I can now highly recommend this tool.
