For some reason my P.C wouldn't recognise both my DVD RW or CD RW but i have
since (after reading through some of these pages) rectified this via registry editor and removing upper and lower filters etc. So now the P.C recognises the drives but doesn't recognise them as R/W. It thinks they are just CD Rom's and therefore Mediaplayer won't allow (because it doesn't detect R/W) me to burn CD's on them. What can i do ? Thanks |

Have you installed the DVD writing software yet? XP doesn't know
anything about writing to DVD's, it's supplied with the 3rd party software that came with the drives. Is your burning software up to date, what do you use..?
Have you disabled the inbuilt XP CD Wiz, if using a third party burning app..? http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;826510 A good read on cd burning in XP.. http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpcd.php If you are using MP10, see if your video decoder is compatible.. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en Use this to check for system compatibility before (upgrade) or after you install XP, you can also find it on the retail XP installation CD.. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p...eckcompat.mspx Hope this can help.. j;-j "Tykelad" wrote: > For some reason my P.C wouldn't recognise both my DVD RW or CD RW but i have > since (after reading through some of these pages) rectified this via registry > editor and removing upper and lower filters etc. So now the P.C recognises > the drives but doesn't recognise them as R/W.
