nothing is showing up in my device manager and none of my network
connections are showing either. But everything works as normal. what
can i do??

There has been a rash of this problem in the last few days, all relating
to malware. The AproposFix has taken care of the empty Device Manager
for many posters:

It would be wise to do other scanning for malware also:
