I had accidentally deleted one or several files from the WINDOWS folder, so
now I cannot connect my camera to XP through the USB cable. I downloaded WIA drivers from the Canon's website and can now see the camera in Windows Explorer but "Camera and Scanner" wizard still doesn't work. The systems beeps when camera gets connected but the wizard itself doesn't show up. If I directly go to the wizard, I can see the camera but the files cannot be downloaded. The list of files I have in Windows folder: Windows/twain_32/wiatwain.ds Windows/twain.dll Windows/twain_32.dll Windows/twunk_16.exe Windows/twunk_32.exe Is there any chance I can insttall a windows component or a third-party app so the wizard will start working again? thank you! |

First try the system file checker, sfc, see win help.
If that doesnt do it reinstall *all* your cannon software/drivers as per cannon instructions. (usually install software, prior to connecting usb device) "Striped" <nospam@nospam.com> wrote in message news:uutRJv37FHA.1148@tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl... >I had accidentally deleted one or several files from the WINDOWS folder, so >now I cannot connect my camera to XP through the USB cable. > > I downloaded WIA drivers from the Canon's website and can now see the > camera in Windows Explorer but "Camera and Scanner" wizard still doesn't > work. Additionally, the Canon drivers have been uncertified (I do not know about the very new cameras and their drivers) and sfc will not in any event restore them. Reinstalling the software for the camera is the best solution. Q |
