Yeah, the disk that came with the card has several drivers: VIA, three types
of ALi, plus one for a Mac. With virtually no explanation of which one to use. I've got two ports on the front, two at rear (before installing the new card). The 'literature' that came with the pc is VERY basic, with no mention of usb. I always assumed it was usb 1. Do you have any other usb controllers listed in Device manager?
Did you ever look at PCI card to see if you can find a chipset (black rectangular box) that has VIA or Ali on it? The chipset is ALi M5273. Device Manager also lists VIA enhanced controller,
which may have come with WinXP SP1, or could have loaded off this driver disk. I can't help thinking I've got a faulty card. When I install it and the driver, it says everything's fine. But if I try to use it Windows tells me it's an Unknown Device with no driver installed. I then try to reinstall the driver through Win Troubleshooter, and it says it can't find the driver. Bizarre, but I think I'll return it to seller, unless you have any other suggestions??
