Default Pentium 4 slow

hey..

maybe an Easy question and maybe also they answer, but ive been lookin
for it for a while. I have a Dell Lattitude D610 Win XP SP2. it is
upgraded from 1,86Ghz to 2,13Ghz, and 512 MB to 1024MB 533Mhz DDR2.

it is slow as %$@# and i cant get it to work as its suppose to.
normally i would call Dell and ask them what to do or let someone come
over.

I threw away loads files. old stuff.
Temp Files (inet, and Programs we use)
and i cleaned up with the XP tools.

The Laptop is fast(normally). Any ideas

Greetz

This may have nothing to do with hardware unless the slowness happened
immediately after the upgrade. If it did, then you need to call Dell.
Otherwise, here are a few suggestions:

Make sure the computer is virus/malware-free:

Slow or Sluggish Computer:

From a hardware standpoint, make sure the computer is not using PIO
mode:
