Download and run diagnostic program from the drive manufacturer. Sounds
like the drive failed to me.

Hi Bob,
Thanx for the reply.
Unfortunately I don't know the Type and connection of my Hard Disc and only
know that Manufacturer is MAXTOR and don't know the Model/Type.Can you able
to tell me whether generally for normal home PC is it SCSI drive, right?
Plus I can not start my PC so don't know Hardware details and I don't have
remote access.
I apreciate if you can help me.

make sure pc is powered down/turned off. open the case. remove hard drive.
make notes for reinstall. may not have to disconnect cables to remove.
read label on top of hard drive.

write info down. repost info.

Download PowerMax from Maxtor's website
http://tinyurl.com/4osje

Or try SeaTools from Seagate. SeaTools can diagnose non-Seagate hard
drives. http://www.seagate.com/support/seatools/

It is very unlikely that a current home PC has a SCSI drive. If the
drive is quite new it may be SATA but if older will be PATA. The above
diagnostic utilities will work fine either way.
