This seems tobe a hardware / driver / IntelliXXX s/w issue - posted
previously to mshardware.product without answer...

Hi,

The screen saver on my system does not work. It fails regardless of screen
saver chosen, settings or any other factor. Preview does work. Right click /
preview on the .scr files work.

I have deinstalled recently installed s/w. Checked .scr and related registry
settings (IE registry search and following cross references) comparing
against a known working system.

*The odd thing*
I have a MS Wireless Photo Keyboard + Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 (both
wireless) which - if the drivers are installed *and* then the mouse is
removed, the screen saver does work. I have tried de-installing the drivers
(IntelliXXX s/w package v 5.2 - IE whatever is latest)
and the screen saver no longer works if the mouse is pulled out ==> mouse or
keyboard drivers.

The computer is an Asus M6Ne laptop with a synaptics mouse pad which works
100% otherwise. The keyboard / mouse is connected to the system via the USB
connector only so when I disconnect the mouse I am also disconnecting the
external keyboard.

I have swags of s/w installed including VS6, VS2003, VS 2005, SQL Server,
NOD32, MS Antispyware etc etc.

Has anyone any ideas please as this is a security issue for me?
As a workaround, does anyone recall the shortcut to invoke the screen saver?
