Hi
I have a Problem with my USB-Devices (mostly harddisks). The Problem is the following: when i connect a harddisk to my pc, it makes a connection, an this acoustic signal comes. After a random duration, suddenly the drive is dissconnected, and i can listen to the acoustic disconnect-signal again. Afther that, it restores the connection automaticly and so on... i've tried it with a couple of harddisks, a usb-hub, and with a fresh windows-install... nothing helped do you have an idea? greez& thanks chris |

Hard drives make some human range audio (noise) when spinning up, and may
also during access. Both occur when connecting a USB enclosure containing a hard drive when a compatible OS is installed. What are you basing your observation of a connection and disconnection on? -- Jonny <chlehmann@mediatools.ch> wrote in message news:1133856143.188122.121850@g14g2000cwa.googlegr oups.com... > Hi > I have a Problem with my USB-Devices (mostly harddisks). > The Problem is the following: when i connect a harddisk to my pc, it > makes a connection, an this acoustic signal comes. Sounds like you are talking about the USB connect/disconnect tone.
Perhaps your USB port is turning off to save power.(set that in Device Manager) or you have a flaky USB port on the computer(try a different one) chlehmann@mediatools.ch wrote: > Hi > I have a Problem with my USB-Devices (mostly harddisks). > The Problem is the following: when i connect a harddisk to my pc, it > makes a connection, an this acoustic signal comes.
