Default Graphics problem

Spontaneously my computer restarted and to my disbelief it was in 4 colour
mode. I am running XP Home with a Geforce 4 MX440.

I slid the sider for increased resoultion and gained acces to more colurs
and applied this and after two reboots (did this twice) it came back in the
more usual doisplay resoultion and colours.

Does this indicate a possible hardware graphics card failure.

Thanks

Default RE: Graphics problem

The 440 series is over 4 yrs old,if that much use is on it you may want to
replace it.

The 440MX, though *really old*, is okay if you play games like "Age of
Empires" and the like!

To resolve your issue,
1. Download and Install "Driver Cleaner Pro" and make sure you have nVidia
ForceWare 81.85 WHQL drivers
2. Remove the current nVidia Driver from "Add/Remove Programs"
3. Restart into Safe Mode
4. Run Driver Cleaner, Select nVidia from the drop-down menu and Click on
"Start". It'll take a few seconds to clean-up left overs of your old nVidia
driver.
5. Reboot
6. Install the nVidia driver and reboot
