Default Hard drives

O.k I have two hard drives on my computer using the Ide cables
I just got a 160 gig SATA harddrie as a gift, My mobo supports it
Its a Asus KV8 Deluxe SE, Can I use this hard drive on the SATA cable
as another hard drive? I'm running XP home every things updated

Why not? Just plug it in and see what happens! You may
need to tell your BIOS that you now have a SATA drive.

Yes, just install it. You may need to install the SATA drivers for the
motherboard unless they are already installed. You will also have to
partition and format the new drive.

It woked, I moved all my files over to my new 160 gig SATA harddrive
