Under XP, I just ran Disk Defragmenter on my C: drive, a 120-gig Seagate,
with no problem. But when I tried to defrag my primary slave drive, a 40-gig Western Digital, I got a message that the drive might be corrupted and that I should run CHKDSK (checkdisk). But checkdisk says the drive is not available because the file system on it is RAW! Yet the drive works fine, no problems. I scanned the drive with WD's diagnostic program and it found no problems. What could be causing this? |

I transferred the drive to another computer running Win98_SE and was able to
run Scandisk....found a lot of severely damaged files, mostly in Recycled. I couldn't delete that folder under Dos or Windows. So I'm just going to reformat.
