dvd drive reading problem

Default dvd drive reading problem

i have a problem reading dvd's on my drive....it reads cd's fine....and also
blank dvd's.....but when trying to play a dvd it keeps trying to read them
but all i get is the clicking noise and it fails..my drive is
called....Slimtype DVDRW SOSW-852S

any help would be gratefully accepted.

Different lasers are used for the CD side and the DVD side..... it's
probably time to replace the drive.

Read through the forum, see if you agree and heed all warnings..
Flashing the firmware can work great or fail and kill the drive, your call..
