Default Harddrive Space calculation is Off?

Windows says that i am using 118GB, of harddrive space on my new Sata
Harddrive, now this is a new system, only had it for a week tops. I added up
all of the base(on C and it only shows that i am using 12.5GB, I have even
confirmed that i am using 12.5 GB using Ace Utilities. Ace Utilities also
says i am using about 51.5 percent of my drive(233(originally 250)GB). Is
this actually true or is there a problem with windows? Should i be concerned
when i start placing large files on this machine.
NOTE:: Windows defrag also says im using 118 but when i analyse it shows
only a few bars, meaning im not using that much.
VERSON : Windows Xp Pro Sp1
DRIVE TYPE: Sata 3.0Gb
PROBLEM : Harddrive space calculation is wrong?

I have an image that shows the Defrag item, being off in its calculations:

Try running the Windows CHKDSK diskcheck utility on the drive.

Open a Command Prompt and type

CHKDSK C: /F

Choose to run chkdsk next time you reboot your PC and then reboot it.
Look in the Event Viewer after chkdsk has performed it's scan for any
reports/logs from chkdsk.

Martin.

Thank you Martin, there was a bad file attribute, that caused the error.
Thanks for all of your help.
