My computer has a motherboard with onboard sound, it also has a sound blaster
live 5.1 sound card. I recently purchased a new case which has a front audio panel. I've checked my motherboards manual , and my mother board does indeed support front panel audio connectors. I have discovered that by enabling my motherboards sound card and making it the primary sound device in control panel/ sound and audio devices, that the front audio panel works, but all my devices connected to the sound blaster sound card no longer have any sound. Unfortunatly my motherboard does not have enough cd in and aux in connectors. What is the solution ? -- Message posted via WindowsKB.com http://www.windowskb.com/Uwe/Forums....dware/200512/1 |

Direct what you want to hear through the sound blaster, to the sound
blaster and what you want to go to front panel to the motherboard audio. You may not direct something to BOTH at the same time. You did not list your MOBO, but it sounds as old as mine. You will never get
the front panel MOBO audio and Creative sound card to work simultaneously. The front panel audio assumes you are using the MOBO connector; the Creative assumes you are not. You can do a System Restore to get your Creative setting back like it was before you re-enabled the MOBO audio. There should be internal connectors on the SB card to attach
the front panel wires, these should automatically disconnect the speakers connected to the rear external ports on the SB card. See the SB installation data on the SB web site. -- The people think the Constitution protects their rights; But government sees it as an obstacle to be overcome. some support http://www.usdoj.gov/olc/secondamendment2.htm "Remush via WindowsKB.com" <u15391@uwe> wrote in message news:58d19be01a154@uwe... | My computer has a motherboard with onboard sound, it also has a sound blaster | live 5.1 sound card. You would think so and hope so Jim. But the connector on the wire on my
front panel audio has 4 holes whereas all the available pins on my SB are 3. The case may be sharing a common ground and only using three
wires, don't know. See if you can find the manual on-line for the cases and contact SB for advice. -- The people think the Constitution protects their rights; But government sees it as an obstacle to be overcome. some support http://www.usdoj.gov/olc/secondamendment2.htm "Go Tyler" <wasting_your_time@cnn.com> wrote in message news:ObwAedYAGHA.2644@TK2MSFTNGP09.phx.gbl... | You would think so and hope so Jim.
