Can not run two device installations

My video card died and i replaced it but I can not install the new
drivers because my hadware wizard is stuck with something else and I
get the message "You can install only one device at a time. Another
sevice installation is underway...."
I have checked the device manager and found nothing conflicting or not
installing except for the video card under other devices. I tried to
disable uninstall reinstall and still get the same error. any idea how
to get whatever is hung up in the hardware wizard out?
