Default RAM SLOTS MAY BURNED????

Dear Sir/Madam

Recently I try to update the ram in my computer.I bought a new chipset and I
put it in one of the extra slots in my motherboard. But the ram wasn't
recognized. After this I done a test I pop the ram that works and I change
slot put it in the second and then in the third slot but the system didn't
work at all and a wird noise appeard.I just wondering if the slots are burned
or the problem is somewhere else.

Thanks a lot

It is very important that you install RAM that is compatible with your
motherboard. Some motherboards require certain combinations of RAM
also. You would need to refer to your motherboard's manual. If you have
an OEM machine (HP, Dell, etc.) you could find out the information by
going to their tech support site and looking up your specific model
machine.

I do not know what a "wird noise appeard" means, but if you can describe
the "weird noise" that might help. If your RAM burned, you would know
it. Smoke would have come out of the slot and the smell would have been
really disgusting.

There is no way to give you more focused information based on your post.
Since English is apparently not your first language - and I mean no
offense when I say this - you might want to post in a newsgroup written
in your language. In any case, please first go to this link to see how
to write a good newsgroup post:

Then if you want to look for a different-language newsgroup, here is a
list of all the MS newsgroups:
