I robbed a SATA HD from another computer I have because I need it as a slave
to off load some files so I can reformat my main. From what I've read it should just auto detect because there are no jumpers. My mobo has 4 SATA plugs and I've plugged it into 2 of the slots so far and neither have resulted in it being detected when I login to windows. My primary HD is the same brand as the one I'm borrowing. Any suggestions? |

Did you check that the other SATA ports are enabled in your BIOS? In the SATA controller's BIOS? Did you check if the physical drive gets detected and listed in the Disk Management applet (diskmgmt.msc)? Could be you just haven't assigned it a drive letter yet. |

Oh that was it. I didn't know you had to enable it in the bios first.
Thanks. |
