I need to get a new Graphics card and I see there are 2 different tyres PCI
and PCI-E.

What is the difference?

PCI-Express is the new, improved data bus. You can read about it at any of

The part that is important to you is the slot in the motherboard. If you
don't have a PCI-E motherboard don't get a PCI-E graphics adapter!

Actually there are three:
PCI plugs into a standard PCI slot
AGP plugs into an AGP slot
PCI-E plugs into a PCI-E slot
You really need to find out which your computer requires.

PCI-E is really the PCIExpress slot. This is the new "standard" for video
cards because it is a faster connection for the video card. It also allows
you to have two PCI-E video card running as ONE super card (SLI).

Doesn't matter how many interface types there are for video cards. All that
matters is what type YOUR motherboard requires. Read the manual to see what
you can install in your current motherboard.

Actually the are different versions of PCI-E too. Graphic cards are
usually 16X. So even if you MB has PCI-E it needs to have a PCI-E x 16
slot. Some server boards have PCI-E slots but no PCI-E x16 slot like
some didn't carry AGP slots.

Also to really confuse you there is also PCI-X slot but they are mostly
on servers for HDD controler cards and Raid cards.
