Hello I just recently tried to insall another 512 MB memory stick. I took out the old one just to look at it and see what brand it was. Then I put it back in the same place as it was originaly in and also added the new memory stick (512). Then I tried to turn the computer on and everything lights up and starts up. The screen shows that its on but theres no green light just the amber light and It's not showing anything. I've tried booting the computer up with no memory in it I"ve tried booting it up with just the old memory stick in it I've tried booting up with just the new memory stick in it I've checked all the cables and everything is in place Any help will be greatly appreciated. Check for a loose video card, the video card is the first to initialize if that doesn't start up
nothing else will. -- Dave Vair CNE, CNA, MCP, A+, N+ "sal8050" <sal8050.20bmyn@pcbanter.net> wrote in message news:sal8050.20bmyn@pcbanter.net... > > Hello > > I just recently tried to insall another 512 MB memory stick. I just took the video card out, whiped away the dust and put it back in. No luck. Swap out the video card for another known-working one. If you still can't see anything, then you probably damaged something on the motherboard while you were working with it. Take the machine to a professional computer repair shop for diagnosis. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User |

You will need to try a different adapter, as that one is no longer
working properly. sal8050 wrote: > I just took the video card out, whiped away the dust and put it back in. > No luck. > > > > David Vair Wrote: > >>Check for a loose video card, the video card is the first to initialize >>if that doesn't start up >>nothing else will. >>-- >>Dave Vair >>CNE, CNA, MCP, A+, N+ >> >>"sal8050" sal8050.20bmyn@pcbanter.net wrote in message >>news:sal8050.20bmyn@pcbanter.net... >> >>Hello >> >>I just recently tried to insall another 512 MB memory stick. I've had something grounding out my MOBO somehow before and had the
same problem. So I remounted the motherboard and while the mobo was out shook the case pretty good... fixed that... |

you probably did this already but if the memory is not seated properly
it won't boot. I have built many machines for people and it happens to me every once in a while.
