Hi all,
Recently upgraded to 400MHz 1GB DRAM (1 SIMM), and still have the old 333MHZ 256MB installed with it. Wondering if there are any adverse effects for mixing DRAM with different speed other than dropping the speed to 333MHz? The new DRAM is a 400MHZ 1GB and the old one is 333MHZ 256MB. I just wish to make the best use of everything so I decided to keep one of the 333MHZ 256MB along with the new 400MHZ 1GB. Thanks in advance. |

You can't "upgrade" RAM - you can only use the exact type specified for your computer. Mixing RAM can lead to memory errors and lost work.

And it is probably backward compatible wiyh the slowest piece you have
installed.Which means they are all 333mhz. I think that is the way it works. I may be wrong. -- Carl G "M and D" <m_and_d@notmail.com> wrote in message news:RoSdnan15PKjXDXenZ2dnUVZ_t6dnZ2d@comcast.com. ..
