Default DVD RW Code 10

i just bought the BenQ DQ60 DVD RW runing on Win XP Pro, 768MB DDR, AMD 2200+
Mobile (or so windows says) and windows gives me the "This device cannot
start. (Code 10)". Windows does reconize this devivce with the proper name
and the same for BIOS. Is this a windows issue, if so how can i fix it, or
is this a fulty DVD RW?

Bios and windows both identify it correctly as "DVD DC DQ60". I am going to
e-mail BenQ and see what they have to say about this
