have a nvidia Geforce4 mx420 graphics card.
My computer was running fine. Then one day when I woke up to boot the system, there were vertical stripes on the display (i.e. when the system displays the P4 logo and logging into XP pro). Worst yet, it freezes half way through logging into windows and I can never get it to work. So I have to go in safe mode and disable the card. And even though the vertical stripes still appear, I can log into normal window mode. Of course, I'm having one horrible time dealing with the squary graphics. Is there any way to fix this, as I have already reinstalled windows as well as formatted my c: where my windows directory sits (although I haven't formatted my other partitions.) Thank you very much for yoru time and effort in reviewing to my query. Your help will be greatly appreciated. |
