Dear techs,
im trying to install a 250gb WD IDE drive in a Winwods Media Center edition Dell. The drive was previously formatted for NTFS on a winxp pro machine. The drive is connected to a pci card that came with the drive. the pci card works fine because another drive is conencted to it and is fine. the issue is that windows recognizes the drive, but in the disk managment utility it says it's dynamic and unreadable. I know i never converted the drive to dynamic. The WD diagnostic floppy confirms that the 250gb drive is ok. Anyone have any ideas how to make this disk work with windows? Ive already tried all tech support from WD, Microsoft, and DELL. Thanks, Joel |
