I have a Dell E510 that has a drive HL-DT-ST DVD+ - RW GWA 41648 drive.
I can put a program CD in the drive such as Windows disk and the drive reads it. If I put a data disk that was written on another Dell and seen by all Dells in the office, it can't see information on disk. If I try to write as new data disk Windows keeps asking me to insert a blank disk. Same thing if I ask it to erase or format the disk. What should I do? |

It could be that the drive is getting flaky. The clue is that it can read
the higher quality disks but not the burned disk or blank disk. Try swapping the drive with one from the other Dell computers. It will probably behave the same way.
