My sound quality of my PC speakers aren't very good. All I can hear is the
bass sound, and I can only barely hear the treble sounds of music, and other sounds. I have the Avance AC97 Audio driver. How do increase the treble sound, or lower the bass sound of my speakers so that I can hear a balance? |

Get better speakers. The fanciest electronics and mind blowing software
don't have nearly as much an effect as the quality of your speakers. To get the most out of your speakers, see that they're arranged properly in the room. -- Ted Zieglar "You can do it if you try." I tried using headphones as well, but it's the same thing; there is too much
bass and too little treble. New speakers might not do it. "Ted Zieglar" wrote: > Get better speakers. The "software" for the sound system may allow some boosting of the
treble, but if you have cheap motherboard integrated sound, spring for a sound card that does have good output. Try checking the settings (Start, Settings, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio
devices, Volume, Speaker settings - advanced). Ensure the appropriate speaker configuration setting is selected here and that you are using the appropriate output on the rear panel. Sounds like you may be using a 5.1 setting and plugging normal speakers into the subwoofer output if the problem follows for both speakers and headphones. Could also check graphic equaliser settings in any program used for sound settings (AC97, Media player, etc.) "Bob I" wrote: > The "software" for the sound system may allow some boosting of the > treble, but if you have cheap motherboard integrated sound, spring for a > sound card that does have good output. > > Dan wrote: > > > I tried using headphones as well, but it's the same thing; there is too much > > bass and too little treble. Don't reply to me, I don't have the problem.

The problem is the same with both of my speakers and headphones. The driver I
have is Avance SoundMan, and I see the equalizer, but it didn't make any difference to the treble/bass sound; yet I can still change the sound of whatever the media player plays, so you think it's the driver I have? Doesn't read as a driver issue, have you checked the speaker configuration
setting matches the speakers used and that the appropriate jack at rear of pc is used? On board (cheap - Bob I?) sound should sound as good as many pci sound cards - in some cases better, unless hundreds of dollars are spent on speakers. Check your settings and jacks used.
