cant load windows error code 4
a relative is having problems loading windows. when he turns his pc on,
before windows loads he gets a message saying there is a problem and does he want to start in safe mode, last good or start normally. whichever option he chooses the pc just freezes and if he tries to boot from cd-rom he gets from windows setup "file setupdd.sys could not be loaded. the error code is 4". we have tried booting from 2 different versions of xp, and get the same each time. any help much appreciated.
