Default USB flash drive

I have a 128mb keychain flash drive that connects to the USB port. It
works fine in WinXP, but I would like to access it under DOS.

I have tried using a DOS 7 floppy boot disk with the recommended diver
(USBASPI.SYS) with no sucess. On bootup, there is a message displayed
to connect the USB device and press enter, but it fails to detect the
drive. The config.sys file reads

DEVICE = USBASPI.SYS /w /v

Any ideas?

-Bill

Actually, one way that might work is if the machine can boot from the USB
drive (it must be fairly modern). Then the USB drive will be accessible (as
c even from DOS without any drivers. I have done this on several machines
built in the last 3 years. Unfortunately, the machines (Dells) do not make
the USB drive accessible if it is not the boot drive.

I also tried some of those DOS drivers and never had any luck with them.

For DOS, the device needs to be included as part of the
boot up...no hot-swapping.

Thanks, do you have an example to setup a boot disk?
What drivers to use and what switches to set, etc. ?
