If you are using a lot of your inbound bandwidth by from either computer, the connection won't provide any better performance until you stop downloading. I'm assuming that you have a 100mbit network between the computers and that they share a 1.5mbit internet connection, not them sharing between each other using the 1.5mbit connection. -- spam999free@rrohio.com remove 999 in order to email me |

Leythos is right.
You could use a Server to connect through, and throtle your individual connections, but you are looking at the COG. $$$ Either way, you are sharing a connection to the internet. As traffic increases from one, the other, or both machines together, your reserve bandwith decreases causing bottlenecks. This is causing your reduced internet surfing speed. You might want to invest in a second ISP connection, and two more NICs. Place each computer on their own ISP connection and with the second NIC set up a home network between the two computers; Just a thought :-) |

Have you considered down loading at times when the other computer is not being used. See if you can schedule downloads at a time you are sleeping. The only other option, apart from separate Internet connections, is to get a faster connection. Dick |
