MSIEXEC.exe not responding

My apologies if this is a repost.......I haven't seen the first one I posted
show up.

I have windows XP Pro SP1 and I can't install anything. MSIEXEC.exe tells me
it has encountered a problem and has to close, I uninstalled and reinstalled
KB893803 without any luck. I also have done System Restore with the same
results.........cannot install anything.

Any clues would be appreciated.
