e a service that has gone wrong, or a low-level driver.
You could try to do a repair install, or try with the recovery console to disable drivers and services - but that's no fun job. From safe mode, you could also try to unnstall/disable 3rd party software that starts up automatically (AV software, firewalls). Another thing is to use msconfig and check the services thoroughly. Last but not least: event log, check if there are errors, they might be helpful.
