ahh, a worthy try. alas after starting verifier, and choosing "select all
windows drivers" finishing and rebooting, windows will not sucessfully restart, and hard crashes back to reboot, over and over until i reboot (f8) in safe mode, run verifier again then delete all changes. even after that though there are problems with apps like IE. so i sys restore to an earlier time to recover completeley from the attempt. c:\windows\minidump
Type in Help Small Memory Dump for an overview. Windows has to trust drivers for normal running else everything would be slow. If you turn verifier on windows starts monitoring the drivers which means it can better identify the faulty one. Of course it may be another faulty driver where the fault is not hit in normal operation, in which case fix that problem and use verifier again. -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goodbye Web Diary http://margokingston.typepad.com/har....html#comments ================================================= "fastfinisher44" <fastfinisher44@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4288456D-57DD-46A0-BFAA-38667F3A0052@microsoft.com... > ah, you obviously think from my intelligent banter that i have any clue as to > what i'm doing. this is not the case.
