How do I get the Hotfix that fixes the following problem:
>When you use a the TV tuner feature of your ATI AIW, the TV tuner program may stop responding (hang) on an Intel HT-based system? My TV freezes and will requires a hard, non-graceful re-boot in order to restart. Everything else continues to work correctly. However, if I am in full-screen mode on the TV, I cannot get access to anything, including Task Manager to "end task" or the "Start" button to shutdown. I am running an Intel Pentium 4, 3.2GHz CPU that shows up as 2 Processors in the Device Manager. Also: 2GB RAM ATI AIW X800 ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe mobo I finally found MS KB-817589, which is a "Catch-22" - "A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Windows XP service pack that contains this hotfix. To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix." I have a sterling idea: WHY NOT POST A LINK TO THE HOTFIX? I will gladly sign off on any disclaimer if I can get this hotfix and apply it, thank you. Help! HELP!! HELP!!! HELP!!!! Oh, did I say that I need help? Thanks to all for any HELP! |
